The Heath Spotted Orchid flowers between June and August in the Burren . Another native to Ireland, this perennial has a flowering stem which grows up to 50cm in height. The flowers of the Heath Spotted Orchid are almost white to pale pink and deep pink. The middle lobe of labellum is much smaller and usually shorter than it's broadly rounded lateral lobes. This differentiates it from the Common Spotted Orchid, whose middle lobe is similar in size to the lateral lobes. The Heath Spotted Orchid's leaves are usually spotted with circular spots. It can be found in bogs, grassland and acidic soil around the Burren.
