Lousewort can be found in the Burren between April and September. Lousewort is a native, Irish perennial and grows up to 25cm in height. It's decumbent (stems lie on the ground) to erect. The flowers of Lousewort are pink, with a large hooded upper lip, about 2cm long. Lousewort has a 3-10 flowered inflorescence (flowering part of stem). Lousewort can be found in damp, acid grassland, heath, moors and bogs in the Burren.
